OSSO Case Study · Sports Rehabilitation

A Grade 1 ACL sprain, returned to sport without surgery

A.H. arrived at OSSO after a run of conflicting opinions about his knee - some pointing toward surgery, none giving him a clear path. He was taken through the OSSO ACL Grade 1 protocol instead. Six to eight months later he is back on the field in three sports.

The OSSO protocol

A.H. was placed on the OSSO ACL Grade 1 pathway and progressed through three consecutive phases. Each phase had to be cleared on criteria before the next began - the timeline followed his knee, not a calendar.

Phase 2B - Load tolerance and control

Isometric loading and targeted muscle activation to rebuild the quadriceps and hamstrings, and to restore tolerance to single-leg work.

Phase 3 - Strength and agility

Progressive strengthening across quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes, alongside balance and proprioceptive work and ladder-based agility drills.

Phase 4 - Return to sport

Plyometric progression and landing mechanics, then sport-specific training built around the demands of the sports he intended to return to.
